It’s quite simple really, a blend of superior quality can only be achieved by selecting teas from the finest tea gardens, and at a time when the tea bushes are producing their best growth. Our leaves are hand-picked when sunshine and rainfall are in perfect harmony, at a time when the leaves grow more slowly and produce a finer taste and flavour.

Who we are

In 1896, from a tea warehouse near Belfast docks, our founder Robert S Thompson, trained in the art of tea tasting and soon became known for his uncompromising devotion to quality.

To this day, every blend we ever produce is first tasted and then approved by a member of the Thompson family.

Better Quality

When only a couple of weeks old, the leaves are picked, withered, fermented and dried to create the perfect finer taste of Thompson’s tea.

Pure Enjoyment

The ritual of pouring hot water through tea leaves is so simple, so familiar, but when you discover the complexity and art of making tea, that’s when you see it in a completely different light.

We know that for our customers it is important that the Thompson’s Tea they enjoy on a daily basis tastes the same every single cup, which is why getting the blending right is such an important part of the process.

Sabie Valley Coffee was established in 1984 by the Buckland Family, who realised that the majestic misty mountain slopes of the Sabie Valley in the Lowveld, had the soils, altitude and climate to produce fine single origin arabica coffee.
